Parents
- Encourage your child always to play by the laws.
- Teach children that trying hard is as important as winning - don't let them be too disappointed if they don't win.
- Don't force your child to play Rugby if they don't want to - they are meant to be enjoying themselves.
- Never yell at your, or any other, child. Work together to eliminate any verbal and physical abuse from mini Rugby.
- Always applaud good play by your team and by members of the opposing team and encourage the children to do the same.
- Do not blame any child for making a mistake or losing a game.
- Help the children to work at improving their game and to become good sports people.
- Do not question the referees' judgement - if you have a problem, speak to your child's coach.
- Support the coaches and referees. They give up their time to enable your children to play Rugby.
- Clean up before you go - the kit needs putting away and all rubbish must be put away after each session.
- Be a volunteer - don't wait to be asked, come forward and offer your help, there is always something to be done. The club is run by the parents, and the more you help out, the better the club will be.
Children
- Play for yourself and your team and play for your fun, not just to please your parents.
- Work as a team member, don't be a show-off or always try to get the most points.
- Always listen to your coach - without the coaches there would be no Rugby.
- Always play by the laws of the game of Rugby.
- Control your temper. Let the referee or coach take care of any problems.
- Be a good sport. Applaud all good play, whether by your team or any other.
- Always do what the referees say, never argue with them. Your coach will ask any questions.
- Never leave any rubbish behind you, help tidy up at the end of every session.
