HKFC tournament schedule final

I would be grateful if you could remind visiting players, parents and coaches of the following administrative points.

Access To Main Pitch and HV In-field

There are two means of accessing the Main Pitch and In-field areas. The first is through the entrance at the start of Sports Road next to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Museum. This will take you straight into the Main Pitch and avoid the congestion in the Club's reception area. The second entrance is located at the Public Carpark along Wong Nai Chung Road. This takes you straight into the HV in-fields and you can enter FC from there from the gates next to the Hockey Pitch or the Lawn Bowls area. This is the best place for bus drop-offs and pick-ups. Unless you are members of the Club, you will be directed to enter from one of these entrances. Your cooperation is much appreciated.

Chairman's Tent

I am very pleased to invite HKMRFU Committee Members and all Club Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to the Chairman's Tent located at the front of the Sportsman's Bar overlooking the Main Pitch (next to the Lawn Bowls). There will be refreshments from 9.30 am onwards and light lunch from 11.30 am. Kim and Daisy have graciously agreed to be our hosts in the event Case, Sanjay or I are not there.

Festival Control Point

The Festival Control Point will be located at the top of the ramp of the Sports Road Tunnel Entrance. We will distribute water, programs and souvenirs at this location.

No Boots On Hockey Pitch (U6s)

Having just repaired the playing surface on the Hockey Pitch, the Club has strict regulations against the use of studs/football boots on the Hockey Pitch. Please therefore remind all U6 players and coaches to use their running shoes instead.

Food Court

In response to your comments about the F&B at previous festivals, the Club has revamped its entire F&B catering system which we hope will address the needs of festival participants. The training triangle will be converted into a food court and there will be separate stalls serving a variety of food and beverages including pies, sausage rolls, bbq items like hot dogs and burgers, along with the usual favourite beverages (beer of course !). Patrons will make payment at the cashier and collect the food/drinks from the respective stalls. This system seemed to work well during the New Year Day festival.

As there will be tables and chairs in the food court, we request that players refrain from any ball games in the food court.

Please also note that the Club has requested that people do not bring outside food into the Club premises.

Parking

Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer parking at the Club. There are only a few public car parks around the vicinity of the Club (Time Square being the nearest). We recommend that players/parents use public transport if possible.

No Bouncy Castles

Despite our attempts at putting up inflatables for the younger (and not so young) players, we have not been able to do so due to the lack of space. Initial plans to use the in-field area have been rejected by the Leisure Services Department. We understand that there will be a few disappointed players but we invite them to visit the Hong Kong Team Supporters Club and meet their favourite HK player instead.

Hong Kong Team Supporters Club

Players from the National Team will be at the Hong Kong Team Supporters Club tent to meet players, sign autographs and take photographs. Please encourage players to visit the tent and send their well wishes to the National Sevens Squad.

The National Australian Bank Coffee Hour

Our sponsors, The National Australia Bank, will be giving away 100 coffee coupons between 9.30 to 10.30 am and another 100 coupons at 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Visit the NAB Tent at the Food Court during these times and leave your contact details or business card for a free coffee coupon.

Richard Hawkes

This year's Richard Hawkes Finals is going to be one of the closest finishes in years with 3 or 4 teams capable of winning the Cup. I would encourage everyone who has finished with their matches to come and watch the finals and support the U12 players.

Security

Even though the Club's security team will be in place that day, we would remind all participants not to leave valuables unattended. Please report any suspicious behavior to us.

Once again, that you for your understanding and cooperation.

I look forward to seeing you all at the Festival.

Best Regards

Iain Seow

Chairman, HKFC Mini Rugby
