Flying Kukris RFC

Youth Rugby

Flying Kukris play youth rugby for both boys and girls born between 1997 and 2003  (for those 12 years old and above) in league formats organised by the HKRFU. The games are played on full sized rugby pitches between September and February with grand championship finals and sevens competitions taking place in March. The boys teams play fifteen a-side rugby whilst the girls start with tens then go to fifteens.

Flying Kukris field both boys and girls teams at U14, U16 and U19 age groups.

For the season starting on September 2016

U14 players are those born in 2003 and 2004,

U16s are those born in 2001 and 2002

U19s are those born in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

At Flying Kukris we pride ourselves on giving rugby to all and welcome returning players, and new players both to the club and to rugby. There is a place for everyone. All teams are coached by experienced and qualified coaches as well as external coaches provided by Hong Kong Scottish. At FK youth we are building towards the future and have a strong link with Hong Kong Scottish who not only provide coaches but also a pathway to senior rugby.

Flying Kukris Youth have a strong tradition of providing players to the HKRFU national age grade representative teams and we will continue to do so. At present two FK girls, Rachael Fong and Ellie Ngkee are part of the Hong Kong U20 Sevens squad.  Selection for the HK National Teams will start later this year and the coaches will be looking for strong candidates from the first session. We have a number of talented players in the FK squads and will be looking for even better representation this year.

Training will be at HKIEd on a Sunday morning. Keep your eye on"Training and News updates" . The HKRFU will issue the league schedule and information on games and meeting times will be posted on the website as well as communicated to players and parents by the team managers via facebook or emails.

For those needing transport to and from HKIEd, the information is here.

Bring friends, as well as your kit, mouthguards, and lots of water on Sunday.

The more you put into your training, the more you will get out of your matches.
